The state of the nation

• 38 Million Americans, including 12 million children, are facing a food crisis.

• “Food insecure” families facing this crisis may not know where their next meal is coming from or they may be in a position where they must decide between purchasing food or paying for essential items – such as rent, utilities, or medicine.

Who is especially at risk?

• 1 in 7 households with children cannot buy enough food for their families.

• 22% of Black households and 17% of Latin-X households are disproportionately impacted by food insecurity compared to 7% of White households.
